Late Valdosta TD wins Division II championship

Northwest Missouri State set the very Division II record it was trying to avoid, thanks to a late touchdown by Valdosta State.
Michael Terry scored with 22 seconds left and Valdosta State beat Northwest Missouri, 25-20, Saturday at Florence, Ala., making the Bearcats the first team to lose three consecutive D-II title games.
Terry's 1-yard TD run capped an eight-play, 37-yard drive. Valdosta (13-1) overcame a 14-3 halftime deficit.
DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIP:
WHITEWATER 31, MT. UNION 21
At Salem, Va., Justin Beaver, the Gagliardi Trophy winner as the best player in Division III, overcame a costly fumble with his normal reliability on the ground, leading Wisconsin-Whitewater (14-1).
The Warhawks won their first national title after losing 35-28 to Mount Union in the 2005 championship game and 35-16 in the rematch last year.
NAIA CHAMPIONSHIP:
CARROLL 17, SIOUX FALLS 9
At Savannah, Tenn., Gabe Le ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns to help Carroll College of Montana beat defending champion Sioux Falls for its fifth NAIA title in the past six years.
Sioux Falls quarterback Chad Cavender, who played junior varsity football at Maria Carrillo High School, completed 12-of-30 pass attempts for 116 yards.
