Nelson group posts record revenue

<p>The Nelson Family of Companies, a Sonoma-based cluster of employment service firms, said Friday it posted a record $393 million in revenues in 2007.</p><p>Overall revenues rose 4.2 percent last year. Growth was driven by Nelson's Workforce-Logic unit, which hit a record $281 million in sales, up 8 percent from 2006.</p><p>WorkforceLogic provides employment management software, payroll processing and professional services for companies with large numbers of "contingent" workers, including temporary staff and independent contractors.</p><p>Clients include Brocade, Bank of the West and Sony Computer Entertainment America. WorkforceLogic, which has 136 employees, will expand into Europe this year.</p><p>"WorkforceLogic is now a major player in the marketplace," said Gary Nelson, the unit's chairman and CEO.</p><p>The Nelson group includes Nelson Staffing, Nelson &amp; Associates, Nelson Technology, HRhome and NelsonJobs.com.
