Communications director named

<p>Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday named a member of his 2006 re-election team as his new deputy chief of staff and communications director.</p><p>Matt David, 28, replaces Adam Mendelsohn, 33, who is leaving to work on the governor's political endeavors and spend more time with family.</p><p>David worked briefly for John McCain's presidential bid until the Arizona senator ran low on money and had to cut back his staff.</p><p>David will be paid Mendelsohn's outgoing salary of $147,900 a year.</p><p>-- Press Democrat news services</p>
