A Samurai-sword-wielding Sebastopol man was arrested Monday after allegedly wounding a friend at a fast food restaurant, then threatening police with the weapon.

David Ferris, 22, was taken into custody at gunpoint, Sebastopol police said. He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a deadly weapon at police officers.

Police were called to the Burger King restaurant on Gravenstein Highway at 7:30 a.m. Monday to investigate a stabbing.

A 20-year-old man from Sebastopol was found inside the restaurant with a severe cut on his arm from a Samurai sword, police said.

The man, whose name wasn't released, was treated at a hospital and discharged.

Police said Ferris and his assailant were friends.

When officers arrived at Ferris' apartment, also on Gravenstein Highway, he opened the door wielding the sword and standing in a fighter's stance, police said.

Ferris was arrested without further incident and booked into Sonoma County Jail.
