Body found off Petaluma Hill Road

<p>Authorities have identified the man found dead off Petaluma Hill Road on Wednesday as Preston Odell Thurman of Rohnert Park.</p><p>A PG&E crew found the body of Thurman, 55, down an embankment and in a creek bed a short distance off the roadway between Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department said.</p><p>Sheriff’s Lt. Rob Giordano said Thursday that the case remained under investigation but that detectives had not found evidence of foul play. </p><p>An autopsy was scheduled for Friday, he said.</p><p>“It’s possible it’s just a fall,” Giordano said. “We will be looking at autopsy results tomorrow to help confirm that.”</p><p>Thurman’s body was found shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. It did not appear he had been in the creek bed for long, they said.</p>
