Numerous media outlets are reporting today that Trent Johnson, who guided the Stanford men's basketball team to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA championship tournament, has an agreement to become the new coach at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
The Times-Picayune in New Orleans said Johnson will be introduced Thursday at a news conference at the school.
Johnson coached the Cardinal to a 28-8 record this season and was 80-48 in four seasons since returning from Nevada to Stanford, where he had been an assistant coach under Mike Montgomery. His overall coaching record, including five seasons in Reno, is 159-122.
