Rollins misses start with injury
National League MVP Jimmy Rollins was scratched from the Philadelphia Phillies' lineup Wednesday night against the New York Mets because of a sprained left ankle.
Rollins left Tuesday's game in the eighth inning after tweaking his ankle while scrambling back to second base on a pickoff play.
He tested the ankle during batting practice Wednesday, but was removed from the lineup.
"It hasn't changed from yesterday," Rollins said. "I never felt bad. It's never been swelling. It's just my mobility going left to right."
Hernandez out indefinitely
Pitcher is out indefinitely with a strained tendon in his troublesome right foot, another blow to New York's pitching staff.
Hernandez will wear a protective boot for two weeks and then be re-evaluated, manager Willie Randolph said Wednesday. El Duque is eligible to come off the disabled list Sunday, but won't be ready for a while.
Floyd will have surgery
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Cliff Floyd will have surgery on Friday to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee.
The injury was discovered by an MRI exam Wednesday.
Floyd is hitting .333 with two homers and five RBIs.
