A public memorial service for four members of a North Coast family killed in an airplane crash over the holiday weekend is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Little River Inn, 7901 Highway 1, on the Mendocino Coast.
Killed were pilot Keith Paulson; his wife, Jaynie; their son's girlfriend, Jennifer Drake, all of Albion; and their son-in-law, Vince Whiteley of Windsor.
Their small plane, a single-engine Bonanza, crashed Friday while preparing to land at an airstrip in Fall River Mills, about 70 miles east of Redding in Shasta County. The four were arriving for a golf tournament in the small community, where the Paulsons owned a vacation home.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash. Agency representatives could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
In addition to Sunday's service, a celebration of Whiteley's life is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Fritz Winery, 24691 Dutcher Creek Road, in Cloverdale.
