There will be no Fourth of July fireworks shows in inland Mendocino County.

But residents can still get their pyrotechnic fix at displays in Fort Bragg, Point Arena and several locations in Lake County.

Ukiah's annual fireworks display at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds has been postponed because the site is being used as a base for approximately 1,500 firefighters battling more than 100 fires burning across the county.

The fireworks show is expected to be held after the fires subside, said fairgrounds manager Jennifer Seward.

"We appreciate the public's understanding about the fireworks," she said.

Those wishing to set off their own fireworks should think again, fire officials warn.

Mendocino County has had a long-time ban on personal fireworks, and officials have warned there will be zero tolerance for anyone violating the ban.

A ban on personal fireworks also is in place in Lake County.

Lakeport had allowed sales of fireworks, but that was halted Tuesday by a vote of the City Council.

Lake and Mendocino county residents can catch a large-scale fireworks displays starting tonight at Robinson Rancheria near Nice.

On Friday, fireworks will be set off over Clearlake at Library Park in Lakeport.

On Saturday, fireworks displays will be held at Todd's Point in Fort Bragg, Point Arena, Austin Park in Clearlake, Konocti Harbor Resort and Konocti Vista Casino.
