Hall reaches 1,500 finals

Santa Rosa's Sara Hall finished seventh in the semifinals of the 1,500 meters Friday night at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Euege, Ore., to advance into the 12-woman finals, which will be held at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.

The top 12 of the 24 semifinal runners advanced to the finals.

Hall, 25, finished in 4 minutes, 12.89 seconds to place fourth in the in the first of two heats. She was seeded 12th of the 30 qualifiers in the 1,500 with a personal-best time of 4:08.99.

Hall was a four-time state cross-country champion at Montgomery High and won three state track titles. She was a seven-time All-American at Stanford and her titles as a professional include the USA 5k road championship and the Fifth Avenue Mile, both coming in 2006.
