Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, so North Bay celebrants have plenty of opportunities to be a part of the national birthday party from Thursday through Sunday, from Mendocino to Marin.
Below is an interactive map of the organized fireworks displays in the area, where you can see skyrockets, shooting stars, floral bursts and other pyrotechnics. Just click on the map's blue flags to call up information on the events nearest you.
Remember, high fire risks this year has led officials to ask the public to limit all personal use of fireworks. Save your oohs and aahs for the really big shows!
