CRESCENT CITY, Calif. - Authorities in Southern Oregon are conducting an autopsy to determine how - and just as importantly where - a 23-year-old Crescent City woman died before her body was found under a bridge a week after she went missing.

An Arcata man remains jailed on suspicion of murder in the death of Michelle Dickson, but prosecutors in Del Norte County in California and Curry County in Oregon say 27-year-old Josiah Miller can't be charged until they know in which jurisdiction she was allegedly killed.

Dickson allegedly met Miller, a friend, at a picnic area near Crescent City on July 15, the evening before her burning car was found nearby without her in it. Hikers discovered her body on Wednesday and Miller was arrested on Thursday. He remains jailed without bail in Del Norte County, but would have to be released if officials don't charge and arraign him on Monday.

The autopsy is being conducted Saturday by the Curry County medical examiner.
