Police identify suspected bank robber

<p>A gambler who frequents card rooms in San Rafael and Emeryville is being sought by Santa Rosa police for the robbery of a Montgomery Village bank.</p><p>The suspect has been identified as Christopher Wenmoth, 39, whose last addresses were in Santa Rosa and Novato. He is also known as Christopher Sholes.</p><p>Police said he may be driving a black 2004 Mazda 3.</p><p>The robbery occurred July 23, when a man went into the US Bank at 9:47 a.m., gave the teller a note demanding money and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.</p><p>The suspect was identified by a photograph taken by bank cameras, said Sgt. Lisa Banayat, a spokeswoman for Santa Rosa Police.</p><p>Police have a $50,000 warrant charging Wenmoth with suspicion of robbery.</p><p>Anyone with information about Wenmoth should contact the Violent Crimes Investigations Team, 543-3590.</p>
