Christopher Wenmoth, 39, is suspected of robbing the US Bank in Montgomery Village in east Santa Rosa on July 23, said Sgt. Lisa Banayat.

A clear photo of the robber brought in several tips that the man was Wenmoth and detectives got a $50,000 warrant for his arrest.

On Thursday he was stopped by a Minnesota State trooper in his car on Interstate 90 in Faribault County.

He was arrested on the warrant and remains in custody there. Wenmoth will be returned to Sonoma County to face the robbery charge.

Wenmoth was known to be a resident of Santa Rosa and Novato.

Detectives suspect he walked into the bank just before 10 a.m. on July 23, passed a note to a teller demanding money and was given an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was seen during the robbery.

The bespectacled robber wore a dark, long-sleeved button shirt and tan khaki pants.
