Police searching for gas station robber
Last Modified: Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:18 a.m.
The tall, skinny man who came into a Rohnert Park gas station and demanded money from the clerk Tuesday afternoon clearly meant business: He lifted up his shirt and displayed a semi-automatic pistol tucked in his waistband, police said.
Authorities were still looking for him Wednesday after he robbed the Valero gas station on Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park Public Safety Sgt. Dave Welch said.
Police said the robber came into the gas station at about 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, made his demand and was given the cash from the till.
When he ran out, he was headed westbound on Southwest Boulevard, police said.
Officers called to the scene conducted a search of the area but weren’t able to find the thief, police said.
