UPDATE: 10:24 a.m.

Eastbound Highway 12 in Santa Rosa has reopened after a motorcycle crash blocked traffic for part of Wednesday morning, the CHP said.

The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries in the 8:52 a.m. collision and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment, the CHP said.

But the primary impact was on eastbound traffic, which was stopped in both lanes for about 15 minutes before one lane was cleared, authorities said.

The second lane was opened about a half hour later, CHP personnel said.

Authorities said traffic backed up at least to Stony Point Road during the height of the traffic delay.

A multi-vehicle crash briefly blocked both lanes of eastbound traffic on Highway 12 west of Highway 101 on Wednesday morning.

At least five vehicles, including a motorcycle, were involved in the 8:52 a.m. collision, according to preliminary reports.

The accident started with a crash between the motorcycle and one other vehicle just west of the 101 interchange, the CHP said.

One patient was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, thought details of injuries were not available.

A smashed motorcycle was part of the wreckage, however, the CHP said, and the incident backed up traffic to Stony Point Road, authorities said.

The roadway was cleared by 9:06 a.m., but traffic delays continued, CHP personnel said.
