Fiscal responsibility. Make sure we have a work force that is fairly compensated, together with sufficient revenues that allow us to balance the budget and provide services residents deserve. Measure L is the biggest immediate challenge facing us.</p><p>2. Cost-effective, environmentally friendly services. The new City Hall is an example of being cost-effective, yet sensitive to the needs of residents. Oct. 11 we will celebrate completion of City Hall, where consolidated services will be available.</p><p>3. Economic development. Appreciate existing businesses while trying to attract new ones that will provide good jobs.
