Brush fire closes Highway 116

<p>A brush fire near Highway 116 between Forestville and Guerneville burned five acres of steep terrain Tuesday evening, according to Cal Fire. </p><p>The fire, reported at 5 p.m. in the Pocket Canyon area, closed the highway from Odd Fellows Park Road to Mays Canyon Road. Drivers were rerouted to River Road, said an operator with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. </p><p>Air tanks, fire engines, water tenders and helicopters were used to extinguish the fire, which threatened one home and took an hour and a half to contain. </p><p>Agencies from Sonoma County, including the Santa Rosa Fire Department, responded. </p><p>No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.</p>
