Women hurt when car hits tree
Last Modified: Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 3:25 p.m.
Two major vehicle crashes in Mendocino County sent three people by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, emergency officials said Tuesday.
Two women were flown to the hospital after their car smashed head-on into a tree in Potter Valley. The driver, Chanda Davis, 49, of Potter Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Speed may also be involved in the crash, the CHP said.
Davis was driving on Gibson Lane at about 6:10 p.m. Monday when she missed a turn. Her 1996 Chevy Cavalier drove off the road and into the tree, the CHP said.
She and passenger Kathleen Woolsey, 48, of Potter Valley, were injured in the crash. One of the women had to be freed from the wreckage, fire officials said.
Their condition wasn’t available early Tuesday.
At about 1 a.m. Tuesday, a motorcyclist crashed on Comptche-Ukiah Road and was flown to the hospital.
Further information on that crash wasn’t available early Tuesday.

Ok, Well, it's already illegal to drive drunk and speeding is also a crime. Maybe it's time we either make it illegal to hit a tree or ban women drivers. Thoughts everyone?

Hard to be sympathetic when the driver is drunk and speeding during rush hour.

haha! Ban women drivers! I'm tired of driving, I hate it out there with all the stupid people and drivers who are under the influence... At least that way when it's 10:00 at night and I realize I need 1/2 n 1/2, my boyfriends the one who has to go!
