Condo death result of stabbing

A 63-year-old woman who was found dead in her Santa Rosa condominium last weekend was stabbed multiple times, authorities said Monday.

Police identified the woman as Constance Elizabeth LaSalle but provided few other details on the circumstances of her death.

LaSalle's body was found Saturday night, covered in blankets, in her downstairs condominium in the 300 block of Stony Point Road.

LaSalle lived alone, and neighbors had become increasingly worried about her when they hadn't seen her for several days and noticed her cat was not cared for and her car was missing.

A neighbor discovered the body after entering LaSalle's home through an unlocked door.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry, and several neighbors said they did not believe it was a random act of violence.

The Westgate condominium complex, north of West Third Street, has about 100 units, and according to neighbors, is usually crime-free.
