SAN JOSE -- A San Jose home being rebuilt after burning in a fire has been struck again by flames that also heavily damaged two neighboring homes.
Authorities say the home, which burned eight months ago, was destroyed for a second time Saturday afternoon while still under construction.
No one was injured.
San Jose fire Capt. Barry Stallard said neighbors reported hearing an explosion and seeing the home engulfed in wind-driven flames up to 30 feet high.
Homes on either side suffered a combined $200,000 in damage before the fire was extinguished.
Firefighters rescued two dogs and a miniature potbellied pig from the flames. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
