Two Santa Rosa men were arrested near Hopland early Tuesday after sheriff’s deputies confiscated 25 pounds of marijuana an assault weapons, law officials said.

Carlos Javier Garcia Cruz, 32, and Daniel Garcia Tirado, 26, were booked into the Mendocino County jail on suspicion of possession and transportation of marijuana for sale, possessing a firearm during a felony and possession of assault rifles, said Mendocino County Sheriff’s Lt. Rusty Noe.

They were arrested after an officer observed their sport utility vehicle crossing the center line on Highway 101 south of Hopland just after midnight, he said.

After stopping the vehicle, Deputy Jason Cox found 25 pounds of marijuana buds and two assault weapons, one loaded, Noe said. The loaded Norinko Mk90 appeared to have an altered serial number, he said.

Both men were booked on no bail holds because of apparent immigration violations, Noe said.

Cruz had a prior drug offense and had previously been deported. Tirado was on probation for a prior drunken driving offense in San Mateo County, he said.

    Good job, once again!

Carlos Javier Garcia Cruz, 32, and Daniel Garcia Tirado, 26, was I.C.E. notified for follow-up investigation to determine citizenship status of these two alleged criminal perps?

Both will be right-back for spring planting, after visiting with Family in Mexico during the Christmas season.

This is after an all expense paid (by the US tax-Payer) return trip to Mexico.

I'm so sick of Our Country allowing this to continue.

Deporting terrorists won't slow terrorism. These maggots need to be executed for their criminal terrorist acts against the USA.

They are already criminals, been deported before. It's time to make them pay. We as a country are allowing these cowards to destroy what made the USA a great country. And the shitheads that hire them should be prosecuted and persecuted for their part. And I mean PRISON, not a little county jail. Let them meet Bubba.
