A Petaluma teen remained in stable condition Tuesday after suffering a head injury in a skateboard accident in Napa County over the weekend.

Dylan Murphy, 18, slammed into an oncoming car Saturday while rounding a corner on a downhill stretch of Howell Mountain Road in Pope Valley, the Napa County CHP said.

Murphy crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a westbound 1989 Jeep driven by Joseph Gonzalez of Pope Valley, the CHP said.

Murphy was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital before the CHP was on the scene of the 2:50 p.m. accident, the CHP said.

He was listed in critical but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
