Sonoma County’s Latino Democratic Club has added supervisorial candidate Shirlee Zane and Santa Rosa city council candidates Michael Allen and Gary Wysocky to its list of endorsed candidates.

“We need change nationally and change locally,” said club president Caroline Bañuelos in explaining why the group decided to expand the number of favorite candidates and to promote them as a slate.

Zane, Council on Aging CEO, is running against former city councilwoman Sharon Wright for the 3rd District seat on the county board. The club already has endorsed county planning commissioner Rue Furch in the 5th District race against credit union counselor Efren Carrillo.

Allen and Wysocky join the club’s other endorsed candidates for four seats on the city council, Marsha Vas Dupre and Judy Kennedy. The club’s slate also includes Spence Burton for Petaluma city council and George Valenzuela for Windsor school board.
