SANTA ROSA Bring your best dish to Tierra Bean Summit

<p>Tierra Vegetables Farm Stand will hold a Bean Summit from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, featuring a bean cookery contest and a cookbook signing.</p><p>Celebrity judges include Mateo Granados, chef/owner of Flavors of the Yucatan Catering; Aliza Green, author of the cookbook "Beans"; and Steve Sando, owner of Napa's Rancho Gordo New World Specialty Foods and author of the new cookbook, "Heirloom Beans."</p><p>In addition to the battle of the beans, the farmstand will be carving and lighting pumpkins as part of its annual Blazing Pumpkins celebration on Halloween.</p><p>Bring your best bean dish -- stews, dips or just plain old baked beans -- and register at the farmstand, 651 Airport Blvd. The event goes on rain or shine. 837-8366.</p>
