A woman who was kidnapped, raped and stabbed repeatedly while her 20-month-old son sat in the same car is expected to take the witness stand against her alleged attacker today in Sonoma County court.

Identified in court as Jane Doe, the Santa Rosa woman previously identified Aristotle Quadra, 31, as the man who pushed her into her SUV at the Bennett Valley Safeway in February and threatened her son if she didn’t follow his orders.

The attacker then forced her to drive to a secluded parking lot where he handcuffed her, raped her and then began stabbing her with what may have been an ice pick. The woman survived after several days in the hospital. The boy wasn’t physically injured.

Quadra faces nine felony counts, including attempted murder, rape and kidnapping with the intent to rape, charges that could send him to prison for life if convicted.

Prosecutors say a link from the handcuffs and other forensic evidence link Quadra to the attack.

Jurors began hearing evidence Monday. Trial picks up again this morning and is expected to go all day.

Quadra remains in Sonoma County Jail without bail during the trial.
