FRIDAY'S GAMES

Casa Grande 17, Concord 13

Casa senior QB Matt O’Brien could prove the difference. O’Brien has been throwing as well as the Gauchos have been playing defense of late.

Middletown 38, Clear Lake 7

The Mustangs have been playing like USC of late. Their fans are pumped and Middletown has three NCS championships on its resume.

St. Elizabeth 28, Rincon Valley Christian 21

St. Elizabeth of Oakland won the Class B title last year, upsetting St. Vincent. The top running back returns, although RVC is good at throwing the ball.

SATURDAY'S GAMES

Ukiah 21, Ygnacio Valley 20

Gabe Ott has a broken finger, but will still play for the Wildcats. Ukiah looks better balanced than Ygnacio Valley, but 260-pound Petrone Wood II is a 1,700-yard rusher who looks like Jerome “The Bus” Bettis.

Healdsburg 20, McKinleyville 14

The Greyhounds have lost their starting quarterback, but after a two-week absence, the ‘Hounds’ passing game returns.

Marin Catholic 31, Analy 13

The Wildcats got shut out by a very good Novato team last week. They might try and take it out on the Tigers, who are looking to snap a five-game losing streak.

Fort Bragg 21, Salesian 20

An upset special, the banged up Timberwolves still have Jake Cimolino (1,966 yards rushing and 26 TDs) and quality blockers on the line.

Anderson Valley 27, South Fork 14

The Panthers may have enjoyed the greatest reversal ever in the Empire, going from no program last year to a playoff spot this season. The Panthers won’t mind the long ride bus ride to Miranda.

Tomales 38, St. Bernard 14

The Braves and 1,400-yard rusher Stan Moody look as ready as ever for the playoffs. And this one is at home under the lights.
