SANTA ROSA, Dec. 16, 2008 – Southwest Community Health Center announced today that prominent developer Hugh Futrell Corp. will advise its 60,000-square-foot expansion and consolidation project that will more than double its patient capacity.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to assist Southwest Community Health Center, one of the North Bay’s leading health care organizations, in this important project,” said Hugh Futrell, president of HFC.
The project at a yet-to-be-named site will consolidate operations at the Chanate Family Practice Center and administrative offices into one space and is slated to open sometime in 2011. Other locations in southwest Santa Rosa and on-site school and adult day services will not move, according to the release sent this afternoon.
The residency program is among services moving to the new location, which might also house a lab and pharmacy operations. Previously, clinic officials said the program would move to a new building planned for construction on Fulton Avenue, but the release did not say if that site is still an option.
“We envision it to be a comprehensive medical campus offering primary care, specialty services, dental clinic, mental health program and also to serve as a campus for other community health care and service providers,” said Southwest Chief Executive Officer Naomi Fuchs.
The Futrell Corp. will manage site acquisition, planning, financial analysis, coordination of design consultants and construction of the facility in close collaboration with clinic administration.
