A Healdsburg man killed during a domestic dispute died from multiple stab wounds to the left side of his neck, a Sonoma County coroner's official said Wednesday.
Daniel Gerard Mooney, 46, died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday after a fight at his Mason Street apartment.
Mooney's girlfriend, Sheyna Douprea, 23, remains in Sonoma County Jail without bail, charged with the slaying.
An autopsy on Mooney was conducted Tuesday, and Sheriff's Sgt. Mitch Mana said preliminary results show the stab wounds were the cause of death.
Mana gave no further details about the findings. A county prosecutor Tuesday said it appeared that Mooney had two stab wounds to the side of his neck.
Mana said a full screen of toxicology tests also will be conducted. Those results, which won't be completed most likely for weeks, will allow the coroner's office to issue an official cause of death.
