Pilot of ship that spilled oil named in state lawsuit

<p>The state of California filed a lawsuit to recover the cost of cleaning up the oil spill that resulted from the collision of a ship with the Bay Bridge in November 2007.</p><!-- Nothing to do. The paragraph has already been output --><p>The pilot of the ship, Petaluman John Cota, was named as one of the defendants in the multi-million-dollar suit, filed Tuesday.</p><p>The owners and operator of the ship, the Cosco Busan, were also named as defendants.</p><p>The container ship collided with the Bay Bridge in heavy fog on Nov. 7, 2007, spilling 58,000 gallons of oil.</p><p>— Argus-Courier</p>
