An autopsy showed the dead man had blunt force trauma to his head, said Lt. Chris Spallino.

Investigators haven't released the man's name because they haven't been able to find his family to give them official notification, Spallino said.

Deputies arrested the man's domestic partner, Bret Arnold Matz, 46, on Saturday.

He was arraigned on a murder charge in Sonoma County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon. He is being held in Sonoma County Jail without bail.

The death was discovered Friday after Matz turned up at a Monte Rio business and was heard talking about his roommate being dead. The lamp was found at the home, Spallino said.
