Richmond man dead in Hwy. 116 crash

<p>The man killed in a Saturday crash near Cotati has been identified as Alexander P. Ruiz, 22, of Richmond, the CHP said Monday.</p><p>Ruiz was driving on Highway 116 near Stony Point Road when his car was hit by a car driven by a suspected drunken driver at 2:20 a.m.</p><p>The CHP said they believe Ruiz is a Sonoma State University student.</p><p>Dylan Morse of Merced, 18, who was not injured, was arrested after the crash on suspicion of felony drunken driving and manslaughter.</p><p>The CHP said that Morse drove through a red light at the intersection at about 70 mph and hit Ruiz’s car broadside.</p><p>A passenger in Morse’s car, Ryan Spitzer of Merced, was in serious condition Monday at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.</p>
