Music: World-class fun at Festival del Sole
The Napa Valley Festival del Sole showcases world-class talent paired with five-star cuisine and wine every summer at some of the valley’s most sumptuous venues. This year’s announced line-up of talent includes violinist Sarah Chang, kicking off the festival with pianist Conrad Tao on July 18 at the Napa Valley Opera House.
Renowned soprano Renee Fleming makes her Festival del Sole debut on July 23 at the Castello di Amorosa, and the festival concludes July 25 with a concert of Russian favorites featuring pianist Leif Ove Andsnes.
Tickets range from $35 to $125 and can be reserved at 1-888-337-6272. For a complete schedule, go to fdsnapa.org.

Music: Boz Scaggs may not talk, but he sings
Over the years, as Boz Scaggs has rolled in and out of Sonoma County venues, we’ve fielded several phone calls and emails asking, “How come you don’t interview Boz?”
Well, it’s not for want of interest. We’ve asked every time and every time his management has turned us down.
But, cross your fingers and say a prayer, maybe this time around will be different. He’s playing Wells Fargo Center on April 28.
Short on direct quotes from the man himself, here’s a concert review that ran last fall in the New York Times so you can get some idea of what he’s up to these days:
“The show’s nadir was a stiff, emotionless ‘She Was Too Good to Me’; its high point an extended version of Mr. Scaggs’s impressionistic ‘70s reverie “Harbor Lights,” in which Mr. Goldstein’s accordion threaded through an arrangement that allowed Mr. Scaggs to lie back and dream out loud.”
$49.75-$69.75. www.wellsfargocenterarts.org.
