Petaluma’s Turin Networks is now Force10 Networks Inc., after the two companies finalized their merger.

Force10 will keep the former Turin facility in Petaluma, where there are about 120 employees, said company spokesman Kevin Wade.

Turin and San Jose-based Force10 announced in January they would merge operations to offer a more complete set of products for telecommunications providers and data center operators.

The all-stock merger was completed April 1. No other terms were disclosed.

Turin made equipment for wireless and wireline carriers, while Force10 created technology for the data centers run by large Web portals.

The combined company, headquartered in San Jose, will help customers adopt next-generation IP/Ethernet technology, a more efficient way of delivering voice, video and data over computer networks, said Henry Wasik, Force10’s new CEO.

Force10 Networks now has about 725 employees worldwide.
