Editor: This is a letter to the mayor and City Council: I am disappointed in Petaluma for accepting $3,000 in funding from Kentucky Fried Chicken with the condition that we place a KFC ad on our streets.
We had an alternate proposal from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for twice the money. Think of how many more potholes could be repaired with $6,000.
Horrific acts done to these innocent chickens have been documented at the KFC supplier’s factory farms. KFC pledged to improve the conditions, but has not done so to date. Celebrities, world leaders and scholars have spoken out against KFC, yet these abuses continue.
As a citizen of Petaluma, I do not want to support this organization. Please do your research, look at the undercover investigations and do not support KFC.
