Four men who smashed their way into a medical marijuana dispensary and healing center in downtown Sebastopol late Tuesday ended up fleeing empty-handed after the break-in sounded an alarm, police said.
The men, including one who appeared to be armed with an assault-style rifle, were caught on surveillance video carrying black trash bags as they entered, police said.
They were inside for only about 90 seconds before leaving in a burgundy-colored compact car, possibly a Toyota, police Sgt. Ken Troutfetter said.
Three of the men were described as black, ages 20 to 30, and standing about 6 feet tall.
One wore a white hooded sweat shirt, gray sweat pants and a black bandanna.
Another had a shaved head and was wearing a black jacket, black baggy shorts and a red bandanna.
A third had on a red baseball cap with a gold sticker, a black sweat shirt and a black bandanna.
There was no description of the fourth man.
The healing center on Highway 12 at Sebastopol Avenue, which opened about 1½ years ago, has redundant alarm systems and a safe, Troutfetter said.
Troutfetter said no property was taken, but some windows and doors were damaged.
