Valley Ford Road reopened after water tanker crash

All lanes of Valley Ford Road have been reopened between Two Rock and Bloomfield in west Sonoma County following a Saturday morning vehicle crash that sent a water tanker into a ravine and closed the rural road in both directions for nearly two hours.
Eastbound traffic was allowed through the 9:27 a.m. crash scene near Walker Road at about 11:15 a.m., authorities said.
The westbound lane was finally reopened shortly before 2 p.m. Until then, westbound motorists had to detour around the site using Fallon and Carmody roads, the said.
Emergency dispatchers said there were injuries from the crash, though details were not immediately available. Firefighters were called to the scene for an extrication.
Hazardous materials and California Fish and Game personnel also were notified because of an apparent fuel leak from the tanker, dispatchers said.
