Ukiah’s NTech acquired by Sunnyvale company

UKIAH, June 8, 2009 – NTech Industries in Ukiah, a maker of crop-sensing technology, has been acquired by Trimble (Nasdaq: TRMB) it was announced today.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
NTech’s flagship products, GreenSeeker and WeedSeeker, sense plant health and apply the optimum amount of nitrogen, herbicide and other crop inputs. The systems utilize both global positioning and application-control technologies.
Trimble focuses on complete agriculture solutions, including machine guidance, automated steering and application control.
“The acquisition of NTech gives Trimble customers even more ways to save on fertilizer and herbicide costs while reducing their impact on the environment,” said Trimble’s Agriculture Division Vice President and General Manager Erik Arvesen.
NTech, which was founded in the early ‘90s, employs 10 in Ukiah.
