Cars hit head on near Sonoma

Four people were injured Saturday evening when two cars collided on Highway 12 north of Sonoma.
A 19-year-old woman was airlifted by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, said a firefighter with Sonoma Valley Fire.
A 19-year-old man went by ambulance to Memorial while a 19-year-old man and 15-year-old girl were taken by ambulance to Sonoma Valley Hospital. The extent of injuries ranged from minor to severe.
The crash occurred about 5:50 p.m. on the highway near the entrance to Oak Hill Farm, about a half mile north of Madrone Road.
The accident involved a black Nissan Sentra and a Silver Chevrolet Sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident Web site.
The westbound lane to Santa Rosa was blocked until about 6:30 p.m.
No further details were available Saturday night.
