Earthquakes rock The Geysers area

Two earthquakes struck The Geysers area Monday, including one with a magnitude 3.8.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the 3.8 earthquake at 4:29 p.m. Monday. It was centered two miles north of The Geysers.

At about 9 p.m. Monday a 3.4 quake struck the area. This one was centered three miles northeast of The Geysers.

The Geysers steam fields and surrounding communities are frequented by seismic activity.
