Ending DUI

EDITOR: There is a simple solution to the issue of drinking and driving: zero tolerance. Not .08, not .04 for some, no alcohol in your system, period. The state should make it mandatory that every car registered in California have the ignition interlock device. This would keep people from driving while intoxicated, period.

Oh, and please don't give me the arguments about freedoms and "I don't drink, so why me?"; This device is a simple solution to a bad problem, takes five seconds, and if you have alcohol in your system, your car won't start. Again, this would stop people from driving while intoxicated.

Isn't that what we all want? Not everyone. The bottom line is that DUI is a huge money maker, and, let's face it, the state of California needs money desperately.
