City officials will hold an open house next week for the public to meet employees of Metropolitan Planning Group, the firm that is now providing planning services at City Hall.
The firm, also known as M-Group, was chosen in July to operate the city’s community development department after full-time planning employees were laid off this spring due to budget constraints from the economic downturn.
The open house will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 10 in the community development offices in the west wing of City Hall.
“The open house provides an opportunity to meet the M-Group in an informal setting,” City Manager John Brown said in a statement. “It’s also an excellent opportunity for residents and those interested in development to acquaint themselves with our planning services, to discuss projects of interest and to provide input to the M-Group on what has and has not been working well in the community development department.”
