Santa Rosa man convicted of sexual assault on elderly woman

<p>A Sonoma County jury has convicted a Santa Rosa man charged with the attempted rape of a 71-year-old woman earlier this year and linked to another sexual assault 14 years ago.</p><p>After about an hour of deliberation late Wednesday, the jury found Michael Korell, 49, guilty of a felony assault to commit rape and oral copulation during the commission of a burglary at the victim’s house on Wilfred Avenue.</p><p>Sentencing information was not immediately available. Korell was due in court this aftternoon.</p>
