Daniela Fredrick, a former master researcher at UC Davis, has joined Thermal Technology as product development manager. The Santa Rosa company designs and manufactures crystal growing systems and high-temperature vacuum furnaces for laboratory and production use.

Erik Greeny has joined Sonoma State University as associate vice president for development. Previously, he served as senior director of development for the College of Business and Lucas Graduate School of Business at San Jose State.

Dr. Vivian Belmusto and Dr. David Almond have joined the staff at Alliance Medical Center, which operates nonprofit clinics in Windsor and Healdsburg.

Previously, Belmusto served as the deputy health officer of Sacramento County, specializing in disease control. Her medical training is as a pediatrician, and she sees children and families at Alliance.

Almond has worked as a physician in El Salvador, New Mexico and at Clinic Ole in Napa. He also serves as the medical director at the Jewish Community Free Clinic in Rohnert Park.

Nina Laramore, owner of Santa Rosa public relations firm Laramore Communications, won a first-place award in the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association Better Newspaper Contest. She was honored in the health and medical writing category for a story she wrote while working part-time for The Islands' Sounder newspaper on Orcas Island, Wash.

Wayne Reavis has opened iPhone UrgentCare, a Rohnert Park firm that repairs damaged iPhones, BlackBerries and other electronic devices. The firm is located at 180 Raley's Towne Centre.

Bohemian Stoneworks, a green manufacturer of cast concrete for kitchen countertops, furniture, architectural elements and water features, has moved from Marin County to Sebastopol. The company, owned by Patrick Miller, has opened its showroom and manufacturing facility at 6794 Depot St.

Mary Celestre, manager of Summit State Bank's Petaluma branch, has been elected to the board of directors for Petaluma People Services Center. She also served on the board of directors for the El Nido Teen Center.
