New artwork at Live Oak

There’s a new work of art gracing the campus of Live Oak Charter School.
The “Aztec Angel” sculpture was created by Sonoma Mountain artist Mary Fuller, who is known for her lion sculptures at the Petaluma Library.
“I chose the Aztec theme to draw attention to the importance of earlier cultures, and to challenge the modern tendency to become inflated with the importance of our own,” said Fuller.
A ribbon-cutting event last week included a presentation by Fuller, a tour of the school classrooms and the opportunity to speak with Fuller.
Live Oak Charter is a K-8 Waldorf-inspired public charter school located on the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, 175 Fairgrounds Drive.
