Fire calls

The Petaluma Fire Department received 68 medical and 33 fire or other emergency calls from Oct. 19 to 25. Here are some of the incidents the department responded to.

SUNDAY, OCT. 25

2 a.m. — A 68-year-old man was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital after being involved in a vehicle accident on southbound Highway 101 in Petaluma.

FRIDAY, OCT. 23

2:31 p.m. — Two people suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals after being involved in a vehicle collision on northbound Highway 101, north of Petaluma Boulevard North.

3:24 p.m. — Three Petaluma children — an 11-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy — were taken to PVH after being involved in a vehicle accident on the 9000 block of Valley Ford Road.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 21

10:56 p.m. — A 21-year-old Petaluma woman was taken to PVH after being involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Petaluma Boulevard North.

TUESDAY, OCT. 20

12:11 p.m. — A fire began after gasoline leaked from a vehicle and came into contact with a piece of smoldering metal at a wrecking yard on the 800 block of Lakeville Street. The staff at the yard used a garden hose to extinguish the blaze, and a fire crew later applied additional water to the vehicle, which still was smoking.

8:12 p.m. — An electrical fire began on a large, illuminated sign at the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets, on the 2200 block of Petaluma Boulevard North. Firefighters put out the blaze.
