Former general manager of KSRO, Frank W. McLaurin died in Santa Rosa on Oct. 26, 2009.


Born in South Dakota, he moved to Santa Rosa in 1953. He was in broadcasting for 36 years, serving as vice president and general manger of Finley Broadcasting Company; manager of KSRO and KREO; and past President of the California Broadcasters.

He was a past president of the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce; member of the UPI Advisory Board; lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, longtime member of the Santa Rosa Rotary; the Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club , Wild Oak Saddle Club; a Board member of the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation, and numerous other civic organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara McLaurin of Santa Rosa; daughter, Barbara Lynn Patterson of Santa Rosa; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

No formal services will be held.
