William Merry

William (Bill) Merry, a resident of Petaluma since 1958, died peacefully at his home on Oct. 27, 2009. He was 87.

A native of Lynn, Mass., he was raised in Vallejo, where he graduated from Vallejo High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, in the South Pacific, during World War II.

He retired from federal civil service after a 28-year career as an aircraft electrician at Hamilton Air Force Base and 22 years in the Air Force Reserves.

He was a life member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Air Force Sergeants Association and The Retired Enlisted Association.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlotte, stepson Harlan Osborne, several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.

At his request, no services will be held.
