A Sonoma County Jail inmate received a three-year prison sentence for threatening a correctional officer at the Sonoma County Jail.
Paul Samuel Johnson, 31, of Petaluma was a jail inmate in July facing charges of drunken driving and violating patrol.
While being held in a high security unit, he told an officer that he knew where the officer lived and planned to go there to attack his wife and family when he got out of jail, according to prosecutors.
The officer then purchased a home security system, fearing the threats.
Johnson was subsequently arrested for the threats and taken to trial. He was convicted Oct. 9, in a jury trial and was sentenced Tuesday.
Johnson's sentence included an enhancement for a prior prison sentence on conviction of burglary within five years of this offense.
