Santa Rosa man jailed in suspected DUI

A Santa Rosa man suspected of driving drunk was taken to Sonoma County Jail after crashing his car Sunday evening on Highway 101 near Cotati.
The CHP reported Kenneth Wayne Widener, 29, rolled his car off of the highway near Railroad Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday.
Widener had been heading north in a 2000 Honda Civic.
The CHP reported that due to how drunk he was, he couldn’t control his car and ran off the highway onto the shoulder.
Widener suffered minor injuries and was arrested at the crash scene on suspicion of drunken driving. He was treated at a hospital for his injuries then booked into Sonoma County Jail.
The end-of-weekend traffic wove around the crash and emergency vehicles. The slow lane opened after about 50 minutes, the CHP said.
